Family Pets

Having pets in a family can be a lot of work but the advantages far outweigh the work involved. Meet Lester our Australian Shepherd and my daughter’s cat Riku. Yesterday I was testing a new lens in our backyard and I snapped a few shots of our beloved family pets. Lester is a superb model and co-operates very well in front of the camera. Wish I could say the same about the cat! Oh well, it’s a cat after all… You can bring your family pet here for your family portrait whether it is in our studio or a park location. If  your pet is cat, you might want to consider getting the cat drunk prior to the photo-shoot; just so its a little more laid back & co-operative! lol The dog, just a few treats will do the trick. It’s amazing how powerful a treat can be when it comes to dogs.

The new lens impressed me quite a bit; even more impressive are the colours straight out of my Fujifilm S5-Pro. The camera is a few years old and still has a far greater dynamic range of any camera on the market and the colours that come out of this camera are dead on! When I shoot weddings or portraits, I prefer my Fuji S-5 Pro to my Nikon D3.

Ottawa Wedding Photographers

Ottawa has an over abundance of people who claim to be pros in the wedding industry, many even have elaborate web sites that may give the illusion they’re professionals, but it isn’t the fancy flash presentation of a web site you should be concentrating your focus on but the quality of images you’re looking at. Ask to see one or two entire wedding they have shot; look for consistency in their work. It’s easy to choose a couple nice images of a wedding to insert in a portfolio. Look for consistency from beginning to the end. If the photographer has consistent work, then you’ll know choosing 60 to 80 images for your wedding album will be a pleasant experience.

Speaking of which, I would like to think my work is very consistent from beginning to the end. The vast majority of my wedding clients will upgrade to a larger capacity wedding album. Every single client who upgrade all say the same thing: “There are too many nice shots, we just couldn’t narrow it down”.

Also important to note, some will shoot as many as 1500 shots! (yes that’s right, I said one thousand five hundred!) Can you imagine the daunting task of choosing among 1500 images? After all, the content of your wedding album should be anywhere between 30 to 100 images. Remember, it’s not quantity but QUALITY!

Real Estate Agent Portrait

Real estate agents trust our studio for their business portraits for a few reasons. The quality of our work; Because they know they will look good & professional and for our competitive prices! This charming agent came to our studio this week and was a little nervous but mostly concerned with how she would look on the finished product. Many will try inexperienced photographers or even department store studios for a business portrait and quickly realize why professional photographers are the most trusted for such important portraits. I find it sad that many people will have a negative opinion of themselves thinking they’re not photogenic because they’ve had bad experiences with unqualified photographers.

I pride myself for being able to make people look good on photos! It all boils down to caring for what you do, caring for your customers!
