Karen & Stephan were married November 6 in Kanata. It was a privilege to be part of their wedding and create their wedding photography. We were on a very tight schedule but the wedding photos turned out awesome! A reminder to the brides & grooms who are planing their wedding for 2011 to not delay in booking their professional wedding photographer.  Dates are quickly being booked for next season. I only book one wedding per day and I choose to not exceed 24 weddings per year. This way I can invest the necessary time for editing and retouching photos selected for a couple’s wedding album. Post production work for a wedding is as important as the shooting itself!

Remembrance Day Portrait in Ottawa

On remembrance day I had the privilege to create a portrait of Ronald, a Korean war veteran. I have an enormous amount of respect for our veterans who have served and defended this great country of ours. I find it very unfortunate that our school system don’t seem to be teaching our children enough about the history of Canada at war and the great sacrifices our veterans gave.

Lest we forget.

Gatineau Park, couple on covered bridge

I recently shot this wedding in the Gatineau Park near Ottawa.  Golf courses can be beautiful but they also pose a challenge for wedding photographers if there aren’t enough diffused light to work with – Especially at this time of the year! Despite the lack of diffused light I was still able to create some very nice wedding photos. Ottawa Wedding Photographer Portfolio Material

Yep! This one is going to the portfolio! I shot this beautiful flower girl while waiting for the bride to arrive at a church in Gatineau a couple weeks ago. I have yet to meet a kid that isn’t photogenic. Children make such wonderful subjects when it comes to professional photography. I used to shoot school portraits back in the 90’s. I stopped because school principals and myself couldn’t agree on the time required to do the entire school. I insisted on at least two days of shooting but they wanted it done in one day. I just didn’t want my photography to suffer as a result and stopped taking school pics! You just can’t rush quality! Your comments are welcome.

I will be posting more photos of this wedding.

Passionate about shooting weddings

Wedding photographers ottawa, at park behind Chateau Laurier

When you’ve been shooting weddings for over 24 years it’s not only about a demand for your talent but also about loving what you do! This nice photo is a wedding I shot earlier this summer here in Ottawa. We went to Major’s Hill Park downtown for a photo-shoot with the bridal party. I produced some stunning photos of this wedding because we had a beautiful day but mostly because we had plenty of time to create those beautiful wedding photos. When you’re planning your wedding day, always make sure you have plenty of time for photography. This is something you will appreciate a great deal. This is something your photographer will appreciate even more.  I am in the process of working on the couple’s wedding album right now and with each file I open to edit & retouch it brings a smile to my face. Gorgeous results!
