Family Pets

Having pets in a family can be a lot of work but the advantages far outweigh the work involved. Meet Lester our Australian Shepherd and my daughter’s cat Riku. Yesterday I was testing a new lens in our backyard and I snapped a few shots of our beloved family pets. Lester is a superb model and co-operates very well in front of the camera. Wish I could say the same about the cat! Oh well, it’s a cat after all… You can bring your family pet here for your family portrait whether it is in our studio or a park location. If  your pet is cat, you might want to consider getting the cat drunk prior to the photo-shoot; just so its a little more laid back & co-operative! lol The dog, just a few treats will do the trick. It’s amazing how powerful a treat can be when it comes to dogs.

The new lens impressed me quite a bit; even more impressive are the colours straight out of my Fujifilm S5-Pro. The camera is a few years old and still has a far greater dynamic range of any camera on the market and the colours that come out of this camera are dead on! When I shoot weddings or portraits, I prefer my Fuji S-5 Pro to my Nikon D3.
